Breakers Selected For IWFL All Star Team
June 16, 2009 - The Breakers are proud to announce that RB Vanessa Santillan, LB Priscilla Gardner, OL Jennifer Rios, OL Asia Salazar, LB Jessica Joyce, and LB Amanda Garcia have been voted onto the 2009 IWFL Western All Star Team!
This is a first for the Southern California Breakers and we are definitely proud of our players!

Breakers Finish 2009 Season with Win
June 15, 2009 - The Southern California Breakers concluded their season with a 21 - 6 victory over the Modesto Maniax in Modesto, CA.
For the 2009 season, the Breakers recorded 4 wins and 4 losses, 3 of the losses to Tier I teams (Los Angeles Amazons and California Quake). Overall the Breakers placed 14th among 27 teams in IWFL's Tier II Division. For a complete list of the IWFL 2009 Standings visit www.iwflsports.com/standings.

The Breakers would like to thank all of the volunteers that helped work during our home games, all the of the sponsors and generous people that supported the team and allowed us to play this season, all of the coaches and staff members that dedicated their valuable time in keeping us going day to day, all of the players’ families who adjusted their schedules and allowed the commitment of the players to the team, the California Quake for their tremendous support during the season. . . and especially, the fans . . . who were always there supporting us at our games. The Breakers wish the Los Angeles Amazons well in the postseason! The Amazons, with a perfect 8 - 0 record, will travel to Kansas City, MO to battle the Kansas City Tribe on June 27th as they pursue the path to the IWFL Championship.

Breakers Defeated in Overtime
June 8, 2009 - Following a quick shift in scheduling, the Breakers prepared for a sought-after match against local rival California Quake. The duel finished four quarters in a 20 - 20 stalemate, pushing the night into overtime periods where the Quake pulled ahead with a final score of 20 - 26.
